 -        Approved changes to sabbatical language in the handbook by an all-faculty vote.

-        Approved changes to language on ‘Eligibility for representatives who change ranks during the committee term’ in the handbook by an all-faculty vote.

-        Approved changes to language on ‘Extending Faculty Council Chair term by one year’ in the handbook by an all-faculty vote.

-        Generated a survey question on whether tenure decisions should be made by the president. Most faculty said yes with a few exceptions.

-        Approved the DSS for the Engineering Department.

-        Worked with Faculty Council to develop the idea of shared governance.

-        Created a new proposal, titled, ‘Senior Faculty Excellence in Scholarship Awards.’

-        Approved minor revisions to the language on Faculty Summer Research Grants.

-        Reviewed applications for the Summer Research Awards Program and submitted recommendations to Academic Affairs.

-        Approved a memo on removing CART language in the handbook with the exception of one item that will be tabled for fall 2020.

-        Created a plan/memo to add $50 per day toward childcare/dependent care to faculty conference travel.

-        Reviewed recommendations of the Procedural Review Committee and the Tenure and Promotion Committee. Created a memo to clarify standards and improve language on procedures and principles specifically on Section IV, paragraph F, point 1 on page 31 of the Faculty Handbook; Section IV, paragraph I, point 5 on page 40 of the Faculty Handbook; Section IV, paragraph I, point 7 on page 41 of the Faculty Handbook; Section IV, paragraph K, point C on page 43 of the Faculty Handbook.
