Beaches and Cream
Veggie burger and fries at
B&C. I've also had the grilled cheese sandwich and it was decent for
Disney.
|
 |
|
Columbia Harbour House
Lighthouse sandwich and
vegetarian chili. My husband once ordered the Garden Galley Salad minus
the chicken, but there were specks of chicken tucked underneath the top
layer -- so don't be fooled!

Garden Grille in The Land
Two types of Vegetable Risotto --
both were
surprisingly good though I think I enjoyed the butternut squash one a
tad bit more. I'm assuming they have a different take on the risotto
dish depending on what vegetables are in season at the time of year you
dine there. The first dish I had in August and the second was in
December.

Jiko - Our favorite!
Where do I start? We've had
probably every vegetarian selection at Jiko. Seen in photos at left are:
Lentil pastilla, maize and sweet potato tamales, Kalamata Olive
Flatbread, Taste of Africa, & Earthbound Farm Organic Field Greens. We've also had the tofu
entree, "Grains, Peas and Vegetables," and several soups at Jiko. Our
favorite is the roasted corn. Our daughter has tried and enjoyed the
kids macaroni and cheese. In fact, it was the very first mac and cheese
she ever ate!

More pics
from our recent trip in December 2007. Above are the Kalamata
Olive Flatbread (my husband raves over this appetizer), a
mushroom and pumpkin seed soup and the Grains, Peas and
Vegetables. The soup was outstanding and the tofu in the third
dish was just out of this world magnificent! |

Ohana at The Polynesian
This was an amazing meal! The
tofu dish was a fried tofu with noodles and tons of veggies and the sauce came in
a press that you poured over the entree when you were ready to eat it.
Below that was Fried
Wontons served with peanut sauce, chimichurri sauce and harissa and
Mixed greens with a honey-lime dressing. I also enjoyed the Maui
Scalloped Potatoes and Stir-fried Vegetables.

San Angel Inn
This is one of our favorite
vegetarian meals as it is consistently good. I always ask for a hotter
salsa than the one they normally serve and I order the vegetarian
combination platter.

Tomorrowland Terrace Noodle Station
This is the vegetarian tofu
noodle dish. I thought it was too salty, but my husband really liked it.
We've been back to the World several times since we originally dined at
the Noodle Station but it is never open!

In December 2007 we tried Spoodles
for dinner for the first time. We had always eaten
breakfast here but it was a first for dinner. We really
enjoyed this meal and plan on returning here in May. We
had Margherita Flatbread
(with vine-ripened tomatoes, basil, fresh mozzarella
cheese and balsamic vinegar reduction),
Greek Salad
- vine-ripened tomatoes, cucumbers, red onions, bell
peppers, kalamata olives, pepperoncini, and feta cheese,
marinated in lemon-herb vinaigrette), Hummus (freshly
made and served with toasted pita) and Tomato-Buffalo
Mozzarella Panzanella (with oak-grilled focaccia, basil
vinaigrette, and fresh pesto). You can see in the upper
left corner of the picture to the left that my daughter
had Mickey Macaroni and Cheese with fresh vegetables.
She enjoyed her dish, as well. |

Boma
Although I have only one photo from
our dinner here, we've eaten both dinner and breakfast here on several
occasions. We're hoping to get back again and I promise to take many
more photos of the plethora of vegetarian and vegan offerings here. If
you are new to Boma and concerned about what items are vegetarian or
vegan, just speak with one of the chef's. They're always very nice about
walking you through the buffet, pointing out what is vegetarian.
Overall, this is a fantastic meal!

Cinderella's
Royal Table - Lunch
This meal was a real surprise. We
originally wanted to eat here just to experience the characters and
really didn't expect too much from the food. We had eaten breakfast here
about 4 years prior and it was a dud in terms of food quality -
especially for vegetarians. Now it was time to give it another try -
this time lunch! Well, we were definitely pleasantly surprise - it ended
up being one of our favorite meals of the trip.
 |
Our
appetizer was a yummy plate full of different
fruits, cheeses, lettuce and dressing (typically, it
is a meal/deli-type platter). Needless to say, we
devoured this appetizer! The kids loved it. |
 |
The kids got
penne pasta with butter while I ate the very yummy
Pasta al Pomodoro - Pasta tossed in fresh tomato
sauce with garden vegetables. EB ordered and enjoyed
the Pan-Seared Salmon (he is not completely
vegetarian as he eats fish and seafood -- the kids
do as well) - Saffron crab risotto, grilled
asparagus and lemon beurre blanc.
