Description:
This course is designed to provide an introductory look at the application of computers.
Students will be given hands-on experiences with the technology at a pace
designed for students with little or no technology experience.
Students will be introduced to basic software programs and shown how to
apply them to their teaching. Students
will also be introduced to aspects of the Internet that can enhance the

1. Website - Homepage with links to pages designed to teach reading to diverse students
A. students will use the FrontPage web authoring software to design and create a website that:
houses 10 technology interventions. The 10 technology interventions should be housed in at least 3 areas:
1 area housing interventions for specific needs of diverse students designed to be used in-class by individual student (or small group) during 1 on 1 or small group instruction with aid of paraprofessional
1 area housing interventions designed for computer lab and or classroom with 1 computer for whole class instruction
1 area housing interventions designed for use at home by students and parents.

Students will present their finished product and justify the approaches taken.

3. Students will use Digital Video Editing Software and PowerPoint as interventions for reading education.
In class - performance-based assessment will be used (10% of grade)
Students are not required to purchase a text (see resources below). However, students are required to purchase a memory device (e.g., USB memory stick or burnable CDROMS) in order to backup and transport the projects.
