                All classes were taught with the support of the following interactive technology: 

• Interactive digital video teaching exercises developed with the “FrontPage” and “DreamWeaver” software programs for use via the Internet. 

             • Digital video clips embedded in PowerPoint class presentations. 

•“WebCt” Internet environment used to conduct synchronous and asynchronous online discussions, online quizzes, and online analysis of digital video teaching scenarios.

 Social Studies Teacher, Wellsboro Middle School, Wellsboro PA, August, 1997-May, 2000.  Courses: Civics, Pennsylvania History.  Designed a diversified curriculum which included constructivist as well as traditional teacher-centered approaches intended to reach the various learning styles of middle school students.  Provided innovative instruction with technology.  Designed relevant, student-centered learning experiences for gifted as well as students with special needs.

 Adjunct Faculty Member, Pennsylvania College of Technology (an affiliate of Penn State), North Campus, Wellsboro, PA, June, 1998-May, 2000. Course: Introduction to Sociology.  Designed course syllabus, PowerPoint presentations, as well as innovative, student-centered lessons and activities used successfully to spur student achievement.

Head Football Coach, Wellsboro High School, Wellsboro PA, 1998.  Supervised the district-wide coaching staff.  Coordinated all aspects of a large high school football program.

• Wrote a grant proposal for the U.S. Olympic Training Program which resulted in a $50,000 grant from the Mellon Foundation.   

• Wrote a grant proposal for the development of the constructivist use of technology in the classroom which resulted in a $500 Robert H. Michel Civic Education Grant sponsored by The Dirksen Congressional Center, Peking, Illinois. 

• Wrote an Innovation-In-Learning grant proposal for the use of digital video editing computer technology in the classroom which resulted in a $2,200 grant from the Twin Tiers Coalition for Learning, Corning, New York. 

INTERNALLY FUNDED GRANTS: 

• Awarded the Innovation in Teaching Grant by the King’s College Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning for the proposal “The Innovative Use of Digital Video to Deliver Case Study Instruction.” Spring, 2003.

•Conducted a King's College faculty workshop concerning “Interactive Technologies” during CELT’s “Technology for Teaching Day” May 12, 2003.

• Designed and delivered an Internet-based National Teacher Exam prep-course for King’s College preservice teachers. 

  Organized the King’s College Head Start Outreach program which provided King’s College preservice teachers with an introductory classroom teaching experience.  Every Friday afternoon during the Fall 2000, Spring 2001, Fall 2001, Spring 2002, and Fall 2002 semesters, a group of sophomore and junior preservice teachers accompanied me to the Luzerne County Head Start.  At Head Start, the preservice students first observed the implementation of the “High-Scope” early child-development curriculum and witnessed the approach taken by the teacher.  The students then interacted with the Head Start students on a one-on-one basis.  Finally, the students took over a class period by preparing and delivering lessons (developed in collaboration with myself) following the “High-Scope” model.
