Dr. Dils' Social Studies Methods/Mrs. Danforth's 5th Grade Social Studies Collaboration
&
The project as described by the collaborating teacher (Mrs. Danforth, Fogarty Memorial School, Rhode Island):
"We worked on an online project that paired 5th graders with college students. The college students were from Dr. Keith Dils' Methods in Social Studies Education class at King's College in Wilkes-Barre PA. Dr. Dils' students prepared lessons for Mrs. Danforth's 5th graders. The lessons were taught live via the internet using a technology called WebCT. Here students were able to chat live with their college student teachers while seeing a PowerPoint presentation prepared by the college students. We had a fun and informative collaboration!"
