ENGLISH 221: INTRODUCTION TO BUSINESS WRITING
KING'S COLLEGE
WILKES-BARRE, PA 18711
READING: Pages 123 to 133.
Most students taking this class are probably very familiar with sending and receiving e-mail, but just in case, read pages 123 to 133. Even if you've used e-mail before, the section has useful information on what to say and what to avoid saying. The section does contain references to material covered earlier in the book, but you should have no trouble understanding most of what Kolin is saying in these pages. Pay close attention to his "netiquette" rules on page 125.
WRITING: E-MAIL MESSAGE
Your first writing assignment is to send me an e-mail introducing yourself. Tell me who you are, where you're working or what your plans are. Also tell me how writing fits into your life right, how much and what kind of writing you expect to do in the future, and how you feel about your writing.
